Youth Must Recognise Sardar Patel’s Role in Nation-Building: Tripura CM

State Has Provided Over 20,000 Jobs, More on the Way: CM Saha Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Monday emphasized the need for the younger generation to learn about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s pivotal role in unifying India and safeguarding its sovereignty. The Chief Minister made these remarks after flagging off the Sardar@150 Unity March in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at Circuit House, Agartala, organised to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India. Dr. Saha highlighted that programmes are being conducted nationwide to honour Patel’s legacy, who played a decisive role in integrating the princely states between 1947 and 1949. “To remember his contributions, several events—including debate competitions at schools and colleges—have been organised across all states. Many youths remain unaware of his enormous contributions, and it is important that they learn about them,” the Chief Minister stated. He also informed that he would be travelling to Gujarat tomorrow to participate in the Padayatra being held in Patel’s honour. “All Chief Ministers have been invited to join the Padayatra. Discussions will take place at various stoppages. At a time when conspiracies are underway to harm the unity of the nation, we are keeping a close watch,” he said. Speaking on employment, Dr. Saha said the state government has already provided over 20,000 jobs in Tripura, adding that more opportunities will be created in the coming days. Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Tinku Roy, Paschim Tripura Zila Parishad In-charge Sabhadhipati Biswajit Shil, Padma Shri gymnast Dipa Karmakar, ICA Secretary P.K. Chakraborty, West District Magistrate Vishal Kumar, SP Namit Pathak, and ICA Director Bimbisar Bhattacharya were present during the event.
