World Elderly Day Observed in Agartala Town Hall

Agartala, October 14: The Department of Social Welfare and Social Education, Government of Tripura, organized a programme on Tuesday at Agartala Town Hall to observe World Elderly Day. Minister Tinku Roy attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Mayor Dipak Majumder, Acting Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Bishwajit Shil, and several other dignitaries were also present. Notably, World Elderly Day is celebrated every year on October 1, but due to the Durga Puja festivities, the event in Tripura was held later. This year’s celebration was organized under the theme “Empowering the Voices of Older Persons for a More Inclusive Future.” A discussion session was also held focusing on the welfare and inclusion of senior citizens in society.
