The deceased has been identified as Maya Rani Das, wife of Milan Das, a resident of Nalchar Katalia Mura, Maya Rani area. According to reports, Maya Rani had gone to witness the traditional boat race when the unfortunate accident took place. Despite immediate rescue efforts, she could not be saved. Authorities have taken necessary steps following the incident. The tragedy has cast a shadow over the festive boat race celebrations at Rudrasagar.
