Woman Arrested with 3.68 Kg of Ganja at Agartala Rail way Station

Agartala, October 14: In a significant operation, police personnel of Agartala Government Railway Police Station (GRPS) arrested a woman from platform no. 1 of Agartala Railway Station on Monday afternoon for possessing contraband Ganja. The accused has been identified as Smt. Naya Lakshi Debbarma (62), wife of Sri Bishwaray Debbarma, a resident of Panbua, Ward No. 5, under Salema Police Station in Dhalai District. During the search, police recovered a handbag from her possession containing 3.680 kg of suspected Ganja, valued at approximately Rs. 60,000 in the black market. Following the recovery, police arrested the woman and seized the contraband. A specific case has been registered at Agartala GRPS as Case No. 2025GRP102 under Sections 20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of the NDPS Act, 1985. Police sources said further investigation is underway to trace the source and possible network involved in the illegal drug trade.
