Vande Mataram Played a Pivotal Role in Uniting Indians Against British Rule: Governor
Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu Attends 150th Year Celebration of ‘Vande Mataram’ in Dhalai Agartala, November 7: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu today said that the song Vande Mataram played a significant role in uniting Indians during the freedom movement against British rule. Speaking at the district-level celebration of the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’ held at Ambassa Town Hall in Dhalai district, the Governor said that the song symbolizes India’s strength, prosperity, and purity. “This song shows us the way forward, serves as a source of strength, and reflects our deep respect for Mother India,” he said. He urged everyone to observe such programs with a spirit of patriotism to inspire future generations with national pride and dedication. The event was attended by Animal Resource Development Minister Sudhanshu Das, Dhalai Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Sushmita Das, MLAs Swapna Das Paul and Chittaranjan Debbarma, and District Magistrate Vivek H. B. The Prime Minister’s address from the central celebration of the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram held in New Delhi was also streamed live during the program. Later, the Governor visited the exhibition stalls set up at the venue and appreciated the displays. Following the program, Governor Nallu held a review meeting at Ambassa Circuit House with officials of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Dhalai Zone to assess the progress of various developmental projects. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Moslem Uddin, ZDOs, Sub-ZDOs, and officials from different departments. After the meeting, the Governor visited the Blue Rehabilitation Centre at Burha Para, where he interacted with local residents and reviewed ongoing welfare initiatives. He also inspected the sub-health centre and Anganwadi centre, urging locals to focus on quality education for improving their standard of living. Senior district officials accompanied the Governor during the visit.
