Unity March Held in Unakoti: Spreading the Message of a Self-Reliant, Clean and Drug-Free India
A district-level Unity March was organized in Unakoti on Tuesday to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The march began at 7 AM from the Unakoti Kalakshetra premises in Kailashahar, jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, My Bharat Kendra, and the Unakoti District Administration. The event was inaugurated by Minister Tinku Roy, while Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee graced the occasion as the chief guest. Among the other dignitaries present were Unakoti District Magistrate Tamal Majumder (IAS), District Sabhadhipati Amlendu Das, and Municipal Council Chairperson Chapla Deb Roy, along with various notable personalities of the district. A large number of students, youths, and members of different organizations participated in the march, which aimed to spread the message of unity and national integration. During his address, Minister Tinku Roy said that the nationwide Unity March has been organized to carry the ideals of Sardar Patel to the younger generation. He highlighted that the core objectives of the march include promoting Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Swachh Bharat, and building a drug-free society. The programme is being held across all districts of the state and will conclude on 24 November. Additionally, two representatives from each district will take part in the All-India Unity March, walking nearly 100 km to reach Sardar Patel’s birthplace.
