Unclaimed Contraband Seized Near Indo-Bangla Border

NEBT News Desk, Agartala, 9th September: During routine patrolling at NC Nagar, Batadola, and Bolerdepa areas near the Indo-Bangla Border Fence, security personnel recovered and seized a large quantity of contraband. The seizure included 200 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup and 14 kilograms of dry ganja, found in an unclaimed condition. Officials confirmed that the recovery was made after observing all legal formalities. The seized items were later handed over to Sonamura Police Station, which has launched an investigation to identify those involved in smuggling the illegal substances. The contraband, reportedly intended for cross-border trafficking, has an estimated destination market value of around ₹3.8 lakh.
