Two Uncles Sentenced to Life Imprisonment in Nephew’s Murder Case

NEBT News Desk | Agartala | 6th September 2025 In a major judgment, the West Tripura District and Sessions Court today convicted two men for the murder of their nephew in a property dispute case dating back to 2022. The incident took place in North Ramnagar under the Airport Police Station, where the victim, Deepak Das, was brutally killed by his two maternal uncles, Sudhanshu Mitra and Amit Mitra. Following the crime, police registered a murder case at the Airport Police Station and initiated investigation, which led to the arrest of both accused. After a prolonged trial, the court found the two guilty and sentenced them to rigorous imprisonment. Government advocate Biswajit Deb briefed the media about the details of the verdict.
