The alert comes as an upper air cyclonic circulation over the east-central Bay of Bengal is expected to form a low-pressure area within the next 12 hours, which may intensify into a depression by October 2 and cross the south Odisha–north Andhra Pradesh coast by the morning of October 3. Weather Forecast and Warnings for Tripura: October 1, 2025: Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are very likely at many places across Tripura. Heavy rainfall (7–11 cm) is expected at one or two locations in North, Unakoti, Gomati, and South districts. Thunderstorms with lightning are also predicted. October 2–4, 2025: Light to moderate rain/thundershowers will continue at many places. Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms with lightning are likely in select areas, particularly in West, Sepahijala, Gomati, and South Tripura. October 5–7, 2025: Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are expected at a few places, with no major warnings issued. Impact and Precautions: Localized flooding may occur in low-lying urban areas, causing temporary disruption to municipal services such as water supply and electricity.
