Tripura Shines at National Conclave 2025 — Bags Multiple National Honours in Tribal Development

Agartala, October 18: Tripura has achieved a remarkable milestone in tribal development by bagging multiple national honours at the National Conclave on Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, held on October 17, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Organized by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs under the Viksit Bharat initiative, the event was graced by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, and attended by Shri Jual Oram, Hon’ble Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, and Shri Durgadas Uikey, Hon’ble Minister of State for Tribal Affairs. The conclave recognized excellence in tribal governance under flagship programmes such as PM-JANMAN, Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan (DAJA), and Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan. Tripura was conferred with two prestigious national awards — Best Performing State in the implementation of PM-JANMAN and Best Performing State in the implementation of Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan. The awards were received by Dr. K. Sasikumar, IFS, Secretary, Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, from the Hon’ble President of India. Additionally, North Tripura District was awarded as the Best Performing District under PM-JANMAN, with Ms. Chandni Chandran, IAS, District Magistrate and Collector, receiving the honour. Gomati District earned recognition for its exemplary performance in Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan and Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, while Unakoti and Dhalai Districts received special mention for their contributions under DAJA. These accolades highlight Tripura’s consistent commitment to inclusive tribal welfare and grassroots empowerment. Under PM-JANMAN, the State has completed construction of 15,584 houses, operationalized 141 new Anganwadi Centres, provided tap water connections to 38,014 PVTG households, electrified 12,743 homes, installed 10 mobile network towers, built 18 Multipurpose Centres, and initiated construction of 67 roads covering 205 km. The Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, launched on June 15, 2025, emerged as India’s largest tribal empowerment campaign. Tripura’s saturation camp model proved especially effective, conducting 4,036 camps and engaging over 12.7 lakh participants to ensure access to identity documentation, health coverage, financial inclusion, and welfare benefits. Meanwhile, the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, envisioned under the guidance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, aims to empower citizens in 392 tribal-dominated villages to plan and co-create their development agendas, marking a paradigm shift from scheme-based delivery to participatory governance. Tripura’s achievements at the Conclave underscore the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, and the dedication of the State administration—from the Chief Secretary and Secretaries to District Magistrates and field officers. Their concerted efforts have positioned Tripura as a national model in tribal governance and inclusive development, inspiring continued progress towards dignity, equity, and empowerment for every tribal citizen.
