Tripura Governor Inaugurates Distribution of Piglets and Bicycles to Promote Livelihood and Women's Sports in Unakoti

Governor of Tripura, Shri Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, on Monday inaugurated a welfare programme for the distribution of piglets to livestock-rearing families and bicycles to female football players at the Unakoti Kalakshetra Auditorium. The programme was organised by the Baikunthanath Tarkabushan Memorial Trust with the objective of strengthening rural livelihoods and encouraging young women to actively participate in sports. Addressing the gathering, the Governor appreciated the Trust's efforts in supporting economically weaker families through livestock assistance while simultaneously promoting women's empowerment by providing bicycles to aspiring football players. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in improving rural incomes, fostering self-reliance, and creating better opportunities for young athletes. A large number of beneficiaries, local residents, public representatives, and officials attended the programme. The initiative was widely welcomed as a significant step towards promoting sustainable livelihoods and encouraging greater participation of girls in sports across the region.
