Three Bangladeshi Nationals and One Indian Tout Arrested at Agartala Railway Station for Illegal Entry

In a major operation based on secret information, the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Agartala apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals along with one Indian border tout on Tuesday around 3:30 pm. The arrested Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as — 1. Pritom Sarkar (22), son of Amborish Sarkar, resident of Tum Char, P.O. J.M. Hat, P.S. Lakshmipur, District Lakshmipur, Bangladesh. 2. Sujon Das (37), son of late Sukronjron Das, resident of Bancha Nagar, Ward No. 5, P.O., P.S. & District Lakshmipur, Bangladesh. 3. Kanak Banik (32), son of Sunil Banik, resident of Devipur Sakhari Bari, P.O. Asrafganj, P.S. Raipur, District Lakshmipur, Bangladesh. The Indian tout has been identified as Bikram Das (39), son of Dulal Das, resident of School Para, Purba Nalchar, P.O. Nalchar, P.S. Melaghar, District Sepahijala, Tripura. During interrogation, the Bangladeshi nationals admitted that they had illegally entered India through the South District border area with the help of the tout. Acting on the information, police arrested all four from near the main gate of Agartala Railway Station. A specific case has been registered at Agartala GRPS as Case No. 2025GRP106 under Sections 61(2)/249(b)/143(2) of the BNS, 2023, 14(A)(b)/14(C) of the Foreigners Act, 1946, and Section 03 of the IPP Act (Entry into India Amendment, 2000). Police have initiated further investigation to trace the network involved in the cross-border movement.
