Swachhata Hi Seva State-Level Programme Launched in Tripura
NEBT News Desk, Agartala, 18th September: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today attended the launch of the State Level Swachhata Hi Seva programme at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha noted that the occasion coincides with the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that a series of programmes have been scheduled from September 17 to October 2 as part of the nationwide observance, including Swachh Utsav. The Chief Minister recalled that in 2014, on October 2, PM Modi launched the Swachhata Abhiyan, which has now grown into a massive people’s movement across the country. He also lauded the efforts of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) for effective waste disposal, installation of dustbins, and maintaining urban cleanliness. Appealing to citizens, Dr. Saha emphasized that cleanliness should not be limited to surroundings alone, but must also extend to purifying one’s heart and mind to create a truly clean society and state. The event was graced by Panchayat Minister Kishor Barman, Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, PWD Secretary Brijesh Pandey, Urban Development Secretary Abhishek Singh, Padma Shri awardee Dipa Karmakar, along with several other dignitaries.
