Sepahijala District Wins Prestigious National Water Award 2024

President Droupadi Murmu presented the sixth National Water Awards and Jal Sanchay–Jan Bhagidari Awards at a ceremony held in New Delhi, emphasizing that efficient water use is vital for India due to limited water resources compared to its vast population. She highlighted that meaningful water management is possible only through the collective participation of individuals, families, society, and government agencies. In a proud moment for Tripura, Sepahijala District has been honoured with the National Water Award 2024 in the Best District Category – North East Zone. The award ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The Hon’ble President conferred the award upon Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, District Magistrate & Collector of Sepahijala District, in recognition of the district’s dedicated efforts toward sustainable water management and community-led initiatives. This prestigious achievement stands as a testament to Sepahijala’s commitment to water conservation and effective resource management.
