RPF Achieves Major Success Against Ticket Brokers in North-East Frontier Railway.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of North-East Frontier Railway has achieved significant success in its ongoing drive against touting activities, aimed at ensuring easy availability of reserved tickets to genuine passengers. In three separate operations, the RPF arrested three brokers and seized over ₹1 lakh in cash along with 44 PRS tickets. The first operation took place on September 2, 2025, when a joint team of New Jalpaiguri CIB and New Jalpaiguri RPF Post raided Sitaram Online Service in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. One broker was arrested, and PRS tickets worth ₹830 were recovered. A case was registered under Section 143 of the Railway Act (Case No. 1070/2025, dated September 4, 2025). In the second incident on September 3, 2025, RPF personnel conducted a raid at PRS Dimapur and arrested another broker. PRS tickets worth ₹3,465 were seized. A case was filed under Section 143 of the Railway Act (Case No. 278/2025, dated September 3, 2025). The third operation took place on September 4, 2025, when a broker was arrested from PRS Kamakhya. During the raid, 7 current PRS tickets worth ₹11,889.01 and 33 old PRS tickets worth ₹90,819.46 were seized, bringing the total value to ₹1,02,708.47. A case was registered under Section 143 of the Railway Act (Case No. 207/2025, dated September 4, 2025). The RPF has reiterated its commitment to curb the menace of brokerage and ensure genuine passengers have access to reserved tickets. Regular drives will continue to be conducted across the North-East Frontier Railway to prevent touting activities.
