PM Modi to Inaugurate Redeveloped Mata Tripurasundari Temple on September 22: CM PM Modi Working to Preserve Culture and Traditions, Says CM State Govt Committed to Developing All Tourist Spots: CM NEBT News Desk, Agartala, 14th September 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tripura on September 22 to inaugurate the redevelopment and beautification of the Mata Tripurasundari temple, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha announced today. Dr. Saha made the announcement while addressing the closing ceremony of the Neermahal Jal Utsav at Melaghar. He informed that replicas of all 51 Shakti Peeths are being constructed at Bandower in Gomati district at a cost of ₹97 crore. “I have written to the Prime Minister, and he has agreed to come. He will inaugurate the redeveloped Mata Tripurasundari temple and also offer puja,” the Chief Minister said. Highlighting the uniqueness of Neermahal, Dr. Saha added, “Such a palace is rare to find anywhere else. We are working to promote Neermahal so that more people get to know about it. With greater visibility, tourism will rise, and the local economy will benefit. Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore created Neermahal as a blend of cultures, and it remains a proud heritage of Tripura.” The Chief Minister further informed that under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, the Rajghat area of Neermahal will also be developed. He stressed that Prime Minister Modi is committed to preserving India’s age-old culture and traditions, while the state government is focused on improving tourism infrastructure across Tripura. “In the North East, we rank second in per capita GDP. Our government is working for the overall development of rural areas. Together, we must work to build ‘Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura,’” Dr. Saha said. The event was attended by Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman, Sepahijala Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Datta, MLA Taffazal Hossain, District Magistrate Dr. Sidharth Shiv Jaiswal, SP Bijoy Debbarma, and other dignitaries.
