One Escaped Inmate Re-Arrested, Five Still at Large
Dharmanagar, Oct 1, 2025: In a major breakthrough after the sensational jailbreak at Dharmanagar Sub-Jail, police have managed to re-arrest one of the six escaped inmates. The arrested convict has been identified as Abdul Patta, a resident of Nilambazar, Assam. According to police sources, Abdul Patta had hired a vehicle in an attempt to flee the state. However, acting on intelligence inputs, Dharmanagar police intercepted and arrested him before he could escape. The dramatic escape took place early Wednesday morning when six inmates attacked jail authorities with sharp weapons and fled the premises. While Abdul Patta is now back in custody, the remaining five prisoners are still absconding, and an extensive manhunt has been launched to track them down. Police have tightened security in border areas and adjoining districts to prevent the fugitives from leaving the state.
