Nine Arrested in Agartala for Alleged Vandalism of Government Property

Agartala, *(Date): A total of **nine individuals were arrested* on Tuesday evening in connection with the deliberate vandalism of flex banners and other government property in Agartala. Officer-in-Charge *Prajit Malakar* of NCC Police Station told ANI that the accused had “intentionally and unlawfully damaged government property at multiple locations in the city.” According to police, the arrested individuals have been identified as: 1. *Somraj Aditya Debbarma (21)*, S/o Subir Debbarma, Shyamali Bazar behind Kunjaban Fire Service, PS NCC 2. *Tanish Debbarma (21)*, S/o Shubham Ch. Debbarma, Krishnanagar Banerjee Para, PS West Agartala 3. *Anukrit Reang Chakka*, S/o Sanjib Chaina, Nandannagar near Auxilium School, PS NCC 4. *Amar Dip Debbarma (19)*, S/o Sanjit Debbarma, Lembuchara near Fatima Convent School, PS Lefunga 5. *Smritimoy Chakma (19)*, S/o Lahar Chakma, Ujan Abhoynagar, PS NCC 6. *Kunal Chetri (20)*, S/o Lt. Hit Bahadur Chetri, Gurkhabasti near Natun Palli, PS NCC 7. *Vivek Debbarma (18)*, S/o Abhiram Debbarma, Bhati Abhoynagar Pashchimpara, PS West Agartala 8. *Rajesh Debnath (19)*, S/o Rabindra Debnath, Ujan Abhoynagar near New Star Club, PS NCC 9. *Biraj Onkrit Debbarma (20)*, S/o Diptanu Pal Debbarma, Jampuijala near SDO Office, PS Jampuijala, Sepahijala district Police said that further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the vandalism and whether more individuals were involved. Authorities have reaffirmed that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in damaging public property in the state capital. These appreciated miscreants have been booked under Sections 324(5)/303(2)/305(e)/3(5) BNS and Readied to produce in court for police remand accordingly.
