NEBT News Desk Agartala, 9th September Minister Bikash Debbarma Visits Bhagini Nivedita Hostel, Assures Quick Redressal of Issues Bhagini Nivedita Hostel in the capital city—home to many students from tribal, minority, and OBC communities pursuing higher education in colleges and universities—was visited today by Minister for Tribal Welfare, Bikash Debbarma, following concerns highlighted on social media regarding various problems faced by the residents. During his surprise visit, the minister directly interacted with the students, listening closely to their grievances ranging from daily inconveniences to long-standing infrastructural shortcomings. He carefully observed the situation to gain a first-hand understanding of their difficulties. Minister Debbarma emphasized, “This hostel is not just a place of accommodation but a crucial foundation for the future of these young women. From here, they will move forward to shoulder important responsibilities in society. Therefore, the government is giving the highest priority to ensuring that they do not face any obstacles in their educational journey.” He further assured that immediate discussions would be held with officials of the concerned departments to resolve the issues at the earliest. The government’s objective, he said, is to ensure that the students can continue their studies in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment. The minister’s visit has been welcomed warmly by the hostel residents and their guardians, who see it as a highly positive step. They expressed hope that tangible improvements will follow soon, turning Bhagini Nivedita Hostel into a model of student-friendly accommodation in the state.
