Minister Bikash Debbarma Pledges Rapid Development in Neglected Hillside Village

In keeping with the BJP’s principle of prioritizing responsibility and ideals over mere expansion of party numbers, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma continues his tireless work across both urban and rural areas, from plains to remote hill regions. As part of this ongoing effort, the Minister visited the Baglai area of Haludiya, located at the foothills of 18 Mura Pahar under Mungiakami Block of Teliamura subdivision, on Monday. Local residents alleged that the region had remained deprived of basic facilities for nearly 35 years under the rule of CPI(M) and Congress, and even during the present TIPRA Motha-led ADC administration. Essential services such as drinking water, education, healthcare, and roads had reportedly seen no improvement for decades. As the Minister arrived, villagers—from senior citizens to youths—came forward to voice their long-standing grievances. “We still struggle for drinking water,” lamented one resident. Another said, “There is no proper road for children to reach school; their future looks bleak.” Listening attentively to every complaint, Minister Debbarma assured the people that the government’s goal is not to make promises but to deliver tangible development. “The government belongs to the people. Their demands and rights come first. Work will begin at the earliest to end this long history of deprivation,” he stated. He further assured that initiatives such as drinking water projects, road construction, and improvement of educational infrastructure will soon be taken up through various departments. For the people of Baglai, the Minister’s visit brought a renewed sense of hope—an indication of light after decades of neglect. Residents of the foothill village returned home reassured by the government’s renewed commitment to accountability and development.
