Major Success for Teliamura Police in Anti-Drug Operation — 3,500 Bottles of Phensedyl and Eskuf Seized from Hadrrai Area

Teliamura Correspondent: In a major breakthrough against narcotics trafficking, Teliamura police achieved significant success during an anti-drug operation early Saturday morning. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in the Hadrrai area and seized approximately 3,500 bottles of Phensedyl and Eskuf cough syrup, with an estimated market value exceeding ₹10 lakh. The operation was led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rohan Krishan, assisted by Officer-in-Charge Jayanta Kumar Dey and personnel of the 6th Battalion of TSR (Tripura State Rifles). The raid was conducted based on specific intelligence inputs that hinted at the activities of a major drug trafficking network in the region. Speaking to the media, SDPO Rohan Krishan confirmed that an investigation is underway and further actions will be taken to nab the key members of the drug racket. He also mentioned that the seized consignment’s estimated market value is over ₹10 lakh. The successful operation has drawn widespread appreciation across Teliamura subdivision, reflecting the administration’s firm stance and growing public awareness against drug abuse. However, sources suggest that despite the large seizure, it may represent only a portion of a much larger consignment, fueling speculation about the extent of the illegal trade in the area.
