Launches Tripura Cyber Security Policy 2025 and Awareness Campaign MeitY Secretary Inaugurates “Cyber Bharat Setu” Workshop in Tripura

Agartala, November 11, 2025: For the first time, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, Shri S. Krishnan, visited Tripura and inaugurated the national-level cyber security workshop “Cyber Bharat Setu: Bridging States, Securing Bharat” at Pragya Bhavan, Agartala. The two-day event, organized by the Department of Information Technology (DIT), Government of Tripura, in collaboration with Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), MeitY, aims to strengthen the state’s cyber awareness, preparedness, and response capabilities. The workshop, being held on November 11–12, 2025, focuses on enhancing cyber resilience through expert-led training, hands-on exercises, and simulation drills. The inaugural session at Hall No. 1 of Pragya Bhavan was graced by several dignitaries, including Shri J. K. Sinha, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Tripura; Shri Anurag, IPS, Director General of Police, Tripura; Shri Kiran Gitte, IAS, Secretary, Information Technology, Government of Tripura; Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director General, CERT-In, MeitY; and Shri Jaya Ragul Geshan B., IFS, Director, IT Department, Government of Tripura, among others. Participants included senior government officials, departmental heads, IT nodal officers, police and bank officers, representatives from technical institutions, and students from universities and colleges. Experts from CERT-In, including Shri Ashutosh Bahuguna, Senior Scientist and Team Lead, Cyber Security Assurance Group; Shri Shashank Gupta, Scientist; and Shri Mohit Kataria, Scientist, delivered insightful technical sessions on cyber defense and resilience. The “Cyber Bharat Setu” initiative envisions building a cyber-secure India by enhancing regional cyber capabilities and fostering innovation, proactive defense, and coordinated response mechanisms. It emphasizes capacity building, information sharing, and collaboration to protect India’s digital infrastructure, economy, and national security. During the event, Shri S. Krishnan also officially launched the Tripura Cyber Security Policy 2025 (TCSP 2.0), which is designed to address emerging cyber threats and build a robust, citizen-centric cyber ecosystem. The policy aims to strengthen Tripura’s ICT infrastructure protection, institutional frameworks, and public-private partnerships to make the state secure and cyber-resilient. In continuation of national cyber awareness efforts, the Tripura Cyber Security Awareness Month (TCSAM 2025) campaign, themed “Cyber Jagrit Tripura,” was also launched by Shri S. Krishnan. The event included the unveiling of “Raksha Mitra,” the official mascot of TCSAM 2025, which symbolizes cyber safety and vigilance. Like previous years, TCSAM 2025 will be observed throughout the month with awareness and capacity-building programs across the state, engaging citizens, students, and government employees to promote cyber hygiene and digital safety in collaboration with various stakeholders.
