Illegal Firecrackers Seized in Special Drive at Teliamura; Administration Sends Strong Message

NEBT News Desk, Teliamura, 19th September: In a special drive conducted under the initiative of the Teliamura Sub-Divisional Administration, a strong message was sent out today across Teliamura town and its adjoining areas. As part of routine checks, a raid led by Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Rupanjon Das was carried out at the Shantinagar residence of local businessman Prabir Saha, where illegal stockpiles of sound-emitting firecrackers worth over ₹1.5 lakh were recovered. The raid also extended to several shops in Teliamura town. Along with Additional SDM Rupanjon Das, the operation team included DCM Haripada Sarkar, DCM Anjan Kumar Das, Deputy CO Pradip Kumar Sarkar, Food Inspector Tanushree Nandi, and Teliamura Police Station OC Jayanta Kumar Dey. Speaking about the drive, Additional SDM Rupanjon Das stated that the seized firecrackers were confiscated, and a legal notice was served to Prabir Saha. He further asserted that stocking such a huge quantity of sound-emitting firecrackers inside a residential house is a punishable offense, and necessary legal action will be taken. The administration also declared that similar drives will continue in the coming days across various markets under Teliamura Sub-Division to curb illegal stocking of firecrackers.
