IG BSF Visits Tripura University, Addresses Students on BSF Awareness and Career in Uniformed Services
Agartala: Inspector General Aloke Kumar Chakraborty of BSF Tripura Frontier visited the Central University of Tripura as part of the Diamond Jubilee BSF Raising Day celebrations. During his visit, he delivered an inspiring talk on “Awareness Development about BSF and Career Counselling for Joining Uniformed Services” for the university students. On his arrival, IG Chakraborty was warmly received and felicitated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Shyamal Das and Registrar Dr. Deepak Sharma. The IG later addressed around 700 students and faculty members at the Bir Bikram Central Auditorium. In his detailed presentation, he highlighted the origin and evolution of the Border Security Force, its vital contributions to national security, and its significant role in the development of border regions. He also shed light on BSF’s historic involvement in major national events, including the 1971 Indo-Pak War (Liberation War of Bangladesh), the Kargil conflict, Operation Sindoor, and counter-insurgency/anti-militancy/anti-Naxal operations. Additionally, he spoke about BSF’s participation in major national assignments such as Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, Kumbh Mela, and disaster relief operations. IG Chakraborty further briefed students on the various entry routes into uniformed services, the recruitment process, examination patterns, preparation methods, and the benefits associated with a career in the forces. The talk was followed by an interactive session, during which students engaged actively and clarified their questions. The session was widely appreciated by students across disciplines and the university faculty.
