Heroin and Yaba Tablets Worth ₹2.5 Crore Seized in Ambassa; Three Arrested

Ambassa, Tripura: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, police seized narcotics worth approximately ₹2.5 crore during a late-night operation at the Ambassa sub-division naka point on Thursday night. Acting on routine checking, police stopped a vehicle travelling from Kanchanpur to Agartala. Upon thorough search, officials recovered a total of 137 packets of heroin weighing 1.644 kilograms, along with nearly 10,000 Yaba tablets. According to police sources, the seized heroin and Yaba tablets have an estimated market value of around ₹2.5 crore. The operation led to the arrest of three persons, including the driver of the vehicle, from the spot. Police believe the seizure has dealt a significant blow to an inter-district drug trafficking network. Further investigation is underway to identify other members of the racket and trace the source and destination of the seized contraband.
