Healthy Women, Empowered Families” and 8th National Nutrition Month Launched

NEBT News Desk, Agartala, 17th September: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the nationwide campaign “Healthy Women, Empowered Families” and the 8th National Nutrition Month at Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. As part of the initiative, over one lakh health camps will be organized across the country till October 2 in Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres, and government hospitals. This has been recognized as the country’s largest health initiative dedicated to women and children. In Unakoti district, the programme was also inaugurated at the district level. The event was attended by Social Education and Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy, District Education Officer Prashanta Kilikdar, Municipal Council Chairperson Chapla Debroy, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Shirsendu Chakma, RGM Hospital Sub-Divisional Medical Officer Dr. Papia Rudra Pal, State Waqf Board Chairman Mobswar Ali, along with other dignitaries. The programme aims to expand health services for women, focusing on early detection and treatment of anemia, tuberculosis, sickle cell disease, and other non-communicable diseases. It will also promote maternal care, immunization, nutrition, mental health, and lifestyle awareness. Beneficiaries will be brought under the Ayushman Yojana and other government health schemes. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Tinku Roy said, “This is not just a health campaign, but a historic step for the well-being of women and children. Through this programme, countless families of Unakoti district will benefit.”
