Headline: Tripura CM Writes to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Over Poor Condition of National Highways

News Report: Agartala, July 17: Expressing serious concern over the deteriorating condition of key national highways in Tripura, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha has written to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, highlighting the immense hardship faced by commuters, especially during the monsoon season. In his letter, the Chief Minister drew attention to the poor condition of NH-08 (Churaibari–Agartala) and NH-108B (Kumarghat–Kailashahar–Kamalpur–Khowai–Agartala), which is connected to NH-208. He noted that the damaged roads have caused severe inconvenience to the public and affected transportation across the state. Dr. Saha requested the Union Minister to immediately send a team of senior officials from the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to Tripura to assess the situation and ensure that effective measures are taken to keep NH-08, NH-208, and NH-108B in a motorable condition. The Chief Minister also urged the Union Minister to direct the Managing Director of NHIDCL to regularly review the progress of construction and repair works in coordination with field-level officials in Tripura and take necessary corrective actions to expedite the projects. The letter underscores the state government's concern over road connectivity and its commitment to ensuring safe and smooth transportation for the people of Tripura.
