Headline: Tripura CM Reviews Prison Reforms, Stresses Inmate Welfare and Skill Development

Agartala, July 17: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Friday chaired a review meeting at the TIFT Conference Hall on the reform and modernization of the Central Correctional Home and other prisons across the state. During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring the overall well-being of inmates and directed officials to take necessary measures for their mental health and rehabilitation. He advised prison authorities to organize more sports and recreational activities, along with skill development and vocational training programmes, to help inmates lead productive lives after their release. Dr. Saha also stressed the need to maintain proper nutrition, quality healthcare services, and other essential facilities for prison residents. He urged officials to remain vigilant in providing a humane and supportive environment within correctional institutions while continuing efforts toward modernization and reform of the state's prison system. The review meeting was attended by senior government officials and representatives of the prison administration, who discussed various initiatives aimed at improving correctional facilities and inmate welfare across Tripura.
