The protesters alleged that as many as 152 incidents of question paper leaks and examination-related fraud had taken place across the country. They also condemned the alleged police lathi-charge on students and youth who had been agitating against the issue. The rally began in the city and passed through several areas before culminating near Circuit House, where the demonstrators staged a protest programme. During the demonstration, the protesters also burnt an effigy of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as a mark of protest. Prominent leaders present at the programme included Congress Working Committee (CWC) member and MLA Sudip Roy Barman and Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee president Ashish Kumar Saha. Several leaders and workers of NSUI and the Youth Congress also participated in the protest rally.
