Forest Department Raid: 120 Cubic Feet of Illegal Timber Seized

In a successful operation, the Forest Department recovered 120 cubic feet of illegally stocked timber from a house on Thursday. The incident took place in Lakshinarayanpur Panchayat’s Khamartilla area under Khowai subdivision’s Kalyanpur Police Station. According to reports, acting on credible information, a team of forest officials led by DFO Ashutosh Kumar conducted a surprise raid at a residence in Khamartilla. During the operation, they seized 120 cubic feet of illicit timber. The estimated market value of the seized wood is around ₹2 lakh. The recovered timber has been transported to the Padmabil Range Office of the Forest Department. Officials confirmed that legal proceedings will be initiated regarding the matter.
