Drug Peddler Arrested with Heroin in Sonamura
NEBT NEWS DESK, AGARTALA, 9th September 2025 Sonamura police arrested a drug peddler on Tuesday evening and recovered 12.96 grams of heroin concealed in a soap case from his residence. Along with the narcotics, police seized his passport, a mobile phone, ₹11,260 believed to be proceeds from drug trade, and a motorcycle (registration no. TR-08E-5019) allegedly used for transporting heroin in the Sonamura area. During preliminary interrogation, the accused admitted that he had been selling heroin to local youths in the Sonamura region. A case has been registered against him under the NDPS Act at Sonamura Police Station. Police suspect that more arrests may follow in connection with this case. The accused will be produced before the Hon’ble Court tomorrow, with police seeking appropriate remand. The arrested person has been identified as Kabir Hossain Sarkar (38), a resident of Rangamati, Ward No. 5, under Sonamura Police Station, Sepahijala District, Tripura.
