Daily Wage Worker Dies After Being Hit by Train on Lakshmi Puja Morning

Agartala, October 6: A tragic incident occurred on Monday morning when a 48-year-old daily wage laborer named Subal Das lost his life after being hit by a train near Sekerkote Railway Station. According to sources, around 10 a.m., Subal Das was crossing the railway track on his way to work when an engine coming from the Agartala direction ran over him. The accident was so severe that both of his legs were severed. Moments later, family members discovered his body beside the tracks and began crying for help, drawing the attention of local residents. A passenger DEMU train coming from Sabroom was halted at the spot for over an hour due to the incident. Locals immediately informed Amtali Police Station and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Agartala Railway Station. Soon after, police and RPF personnel reached the scene. It is learned that Subal Das lived with his family near the railway tracks. Locals said he came from a very poor background.
