CM Urges Unity of Jati and Janajati for ‘Ek Tripura, Srestha Tripura’ Government Working for Development Beyond Politics: CM

Agartala, November 7: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today called for unity between the jati and janajati communities to build an “Ek Tripura, Srestha Tripura” and contribute towards the vision of “Ek Bharat, Srestha Bharat.” Addressing a free yarn distribution program under the Chief Minister’s Tribal Women Weavers Development Program at PM Shri Dashrath Dev Memorial English Medium Model High School ground in Killa, Gomati district, Dr. Saha emphasized that the state government is committed to the comprehensive development of the tribal people. “The BJP-led government does not indulge in politics with the janajati communities. We are focused on their real development,” the Chief Minister said. “A fund of ₹1,400 crore has been taken from the World Bank for the development of tribal-dominated areas. Externally aided projects are being implemented to address basic issues like electricity, roads, and schools,” he added. Highlighting the importance of peace for progress, Dr. Saha noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East Policy has brought remarkable transformation to the North Eastern region. “The Prime Minister has described the NE states as Ashtalakshmi. Peace has been established in this region through various agreements signed under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister. Former extremists have now joined the mainstream, and peace prevails in Tripura — a key condition for development,” he said. Reiterating the government’s inclusive approach, the Chief Minister said, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our government is working for the development of the last person in society. Development has no room for politics. Houses, water, and cooking gas will be ensured for all those who lack them.” The event was also attended by Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharya, MLA Rampada Jamatia, Gomati District Magistrate Rinku Lather, Director of Handlooms and Crafts Department Ajit Shukladas, Chairman of Aitarma Tuton Das, and other dignitaries.
