CM Manik Saha Pays Tribute to Late Cricketer Rajesh Banik

Agartala, November 5: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Wednesday visited the residence of late Rajesh Banik, one of Tripura’s prominent cricketers, to pay his last respects and convey heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Remembering the ace cricketer, Dr. Saha said that Rajesh Banik’s lifelong passion and dedication to cricket had earned him recognition at the state level. “His journey from childhood love for the game to becoming the captain of Tripura’s Ranji Trophy team is truly inspiring. As a member of the Junior Selection Committee of the Tripura Cricket Association, he continued to contribute immensely to the development of cricket in the state,” the Chief Minister said. Dr. Saha added that Banik’s untimely demise is a great loss to Tripura’s sports fraternity and that his contribution to cricket will always be cherished. Tripura Cricket Association Secretary Subrata Dey, Vice President Upananda Debbarma, and Treasurer Basudeb Chakraborty accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.
