Agartala, November 7: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today attended the state-level celebration marking the 150th anniversary of the patriotic song ‘Vande Mataram’, describing it as an “unparalleled mantra of nation-building.” Speaking at the program held at the State Secretariat premises, the Chief Minister said that Vande Mataram, composed by literary luminary Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay 150 years ago, inspired countless Indians to join the great struggle for freedom from colonial rule. He said that, following the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the year-long celebration of Vande Mataram’s 150th anniversary began today across the country. The Chief Minister joined the chorus of Vande Mataram sung in unison at the event and said that every word of the song evokes deep emotion and immense pride in the hearts of Indians. Dr. Saha also listened to the Prime Minister’s virtual address on the occasion, which highlighted the timeless significance of the song. “The Prime Minister’s inspiring words will surely ignite the spirit of patriotism and selfless dedication among the younger generation,” the Chief Minister said.
