CM Dr. Manik Saha Meets PM Modi; Seeks Support on Key Development Projects for Tripura

Agartala, Oct 15: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today and discussed several key developmental initiatives for the state. Sharing details on Facebook, Dr. Saha said he was “delighted to meet Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji” and briefed him on the state’s ongoing development efforts. “Under his visionary leadership, and to fulfill the goal of Viksit Tripura, Viksit Bharat, our government in Tripura has been taking several transformative initiatives. I apprised him of the ongoing developments and sought his kind support on key matters,” Dr. Saha wrote. During the meeting, the Chief Minister sought the Prime Minister’s support for the inclusion of the Bru-Reang community under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) Scheme and for an increase in wheat allocation under the Public Distribution System (PDS). He also discussed vital infrastructure and development proposals, including: ✅ Double-laning of the railway track in Tripura ✅ Introduction of a Vande Bharat Express between Agartala and Guwahati ✅ Enhancement of the ceiling limit for Externally Aided Projects (EAPs) ✅ Establishment of 15 new Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) ✅ Setting up of an Agar Board and Research Centre ✅ Declaration of Unakoti as a Sustainable Development Heritage Site The Chief Minister emphasized that these initiatives will play a crucial role in driving Tripura’s growth and realizing the vision of a developed and prosperous state.
