CM Calls for Mass Movement Against Addiction, HIV; Urges Citizens to Work with Ideals for Nation-Building NEBT News Desk, Agartala, 14th September 2025: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today appealed to the people to build a mass movement and generate awareness on issues like addiction, HIV, and AIDS, assuring that the government will extend full cooperation in this regard. He was addressing the 44th Foundation Day and Blood Donation Camp organized by Nikhil Tripura Mahanam Sevak Sangha at Sree Sree Mahanam Angan, Banamalipur, Agartala. Dr. Saha highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation, stating, “There is no alternative to blood. From this body, not only blood but many organs including kidney, liver can be transplanted. It is necessary to create public movement and awareness through discussion and review on issues like addiction, HIV, AIDS, etc. The government will cooperate in this regard. We must unite against drugs and work for strengthening the nation.” The Chief Minister also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives for the welfare of the people, particularly women and the poor. He noted the rise of “Lakhpati Didis” and the growth of women’s self-help groups (SHGs), stressing the need to promote entrepreneurship and positive social change. Dr. Saha emphasized that the country has been progressing significantly in economy, infrastructure, and other sectors. “Earlier we were in 11th position and now we are in 4th position in terms of economy. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has been working with the vision of making India a Viksit Bharat by 2047. Every household must witness development and an increase in per capita income,” he said. He further urged people to work with clear direction and ideals, noting that through this path, individuals can truly realize their potential and contribute to nation-building. The event was also attended by Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder, Corporator Ratna Datta, and other dignitaries.
