Burglary in Two Schools Sparks Tension in Teliamura
NEBT News Desk, Agartala, 16th September: A wave of panic has gripped Teliamura after two schools under Teliamura Police Station limits were targeted by burglars on the same night. The incidents occurred at Teliamura English Medium Higher Secondary School and Moharchhara Higher Secondary School. According to school teacher Bikram Debnath, the burglary was first discovered on Tuesday morning when a Class IV employee opened the school as usual and found signs of theft. The headmaster, teachers, and members of the school management committee were immediately informed. Though the exact list of stolen items is yet to be confirmed, preliminary investigation suggests the crime was carried out in a planned manner. Surprisingly, the burglars left behind ordinary items but took away computer hard drives and devices connected to internet services. The theft of such technology-related equipment from educational institutions has raised serious concerns among both teachers and guardians. Locals have alleged that despite repeated incidents of burglary, night patrolling by police has become ineffective. Recently, a similar incident took place at Tuichindrai Higher Secondary School, and now with Teliamura English Medium and Moharchhara schools also being targeted, questions are being raised over the role of the police administration. Education enthusiasts and locals alike have demanded stronger night patrolling, holding police negligence responsible for the rising incidents. The community now awaits to see whether the police can crack the case through investigation or if this incident will raise even more disturbing questions.
