BSF Seizes Yaba Tablets Worth ₹3 Crore, Destroys 3 Lakh Ganja Plants in Joint Operations
Agartala, 19 November 2025: In two major anti-narcotics operations, the Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura seized a massive cache of Yaba tablets and destroyed extensive illegal ganja plantations in Sepahijala district. Acting on specific intelligence, troops of Border Out Post (BOP) A R Pur under Jatrapur Police Station launched a search operation in the forested area near Bhawanipur village. During the operation, BSF personnel recovered 30,000 Yaba tablets, weighing approximately 3 kg and valued at ₹3 crore. In a separate and extensive joint operation, BSF troops, along with the Forest Department and Assam Rifles, cracked down on illegal cannabis cultivation in the deep forest regions of Dhanirampur village under Sonamura subdivision. The combined team destroyed 3,00,000 ganja plants spread across seven plots covering nearly 10 acres. These coordinated operations highlight the BSF’s steadfast commitment to combating trans-border crimes, particularly drug trafficking, in close collaboration with sister agencies. The BSF reaffirmed that such actions will continue to ensure the safety and security of Tripura’s border communities.
