BSF Seizes Contraband Worth Rs 8.5 Lakh, Rescues 17 Cattle in Tripura

Agartala, Oct 9: The Border Security Force (BSF) has successfully seized foreign-made patron cigarettes, cosmetics, and other contraband items valued at Rs 8.5 lakh during operations on the night of October 8-9. The operation was carried out by BSF troops from BOP Rangoti under PS Irani, District Unakoti, following specific intelligence inputs. In a separate operation, BSF personnel also rescued 17 cattle from various locations across Tripura, thwarting multiple attempts at transborder smuggling. The Tripura Frontier of BSF has intensified its border operations to prevent smuggling and ensure stricter monitoring of cross-border activities.
