ASSAM RIFLES AND CUSTOMS DEPARTMENT SEIZE MASSIVE NARCOTICS CONSIGNMENT IN TRIPURA

Agartala, October 5, 2025: In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, the Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Customs Department, carried out a successful joint operation in the Singhichhara area of Agartala on Saturday. Acting on credible intelligence inputs, the joint team intercepted two trucks disguised as carrying cement, which were actually being used to transport narcotics. Upon inspection, the team recovered 69.61 kilograms of Yaba tablets, valued at approximately ₹69.61 crore, and apprehended four individuals in connection with the case. This operation follows a similar successful anti-narcotics action conducted on 29 September 2025 in Mohanpur, Tripura. Based on leads from that case, security agencies identified key smuggling routes and networks, leading to the latest seizure. The Assam Rifles — known as the “Sentinels of the North East” — reaffirmed their commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring a drug-free society through continued vigilance and coordinated intelligence-based operations.
