Speaking at a program organized to celebrate the 58th Engineer’s Day at Pragya Bhavan, Agartala, the Chief Minister highlighted the vital role of engineers in nation-building and state development. “Engineers play an indispensable role in designing buildings, bridges, and roads. From e-offices to digital governance, engineering techniques are being widely applied in the state,” he added. On the occasion, he paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. M. Visvesvaraya for his remarkable contributions in the field of water resource management. He also noted that institutions like NIT Agartala, IIIT, Tripura Institute of Technology, and other engineering colleges are significantly contributing to human resource development in the state. Highlighting Tripura’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Chief Minister said: “There are about 2.1 lakh MSME entrepreneurs in Tripura. Airtel’s upcoming data center will further strengthen the digital landscape of the region. In the health sector too, drones and AI will play a transformative role.” The event was attended by Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, NIT Director Prof. Sharat Kumar Patra, PWD Secretary Kiran Gitte, Rural Development Secretary Abhishek Singh, Institute of Engineers Chairman Parmananda Sarkar Banerjee, PWD Chief Engineer Rajib Debbarma, and several other dignitaries.
