Accused in Minor Abduction Case Arrested by Kakraban Police

NEBT News Desk, Kakraban, 14th September 2025: After months of evading the law, the accused in the Kakraban minor abduction case has finally been arrested. The incident dates back to June 20, when a minor girl was abducted from Kakraban police station jurisdiction by a minor boy from Sonamura subdivision. Following the sudden disappearance of the girl, her family lodged a complaint, leading to the registration of case number 33/2025 at Kakraban Police Station. Police launched an intensive investigation and learned that the accused had been constantly shifting locations to avoid arrest. Despite multiple raids, he managed to escape capture until last night, when credible intelligence revealed that the accused had returned to his home in Sonamura subdivision. Acting swiftly, a special police team led by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jayanta Malakar of Kakraban Police Station conducted a raid and successfully apprehended the accused before he could flee again. The accused has been brought to the police station and, after preliminary interrogation, will be produced before the court following due legal process, OC Malakar confirmed. The arrest has brought relief to local residents, while the victim’s family expressed gratitude to the police for their prompt and determined action.
