20 Kg Dry Ganja Seized Near Indo-Bangla Border in Sonamura

Sonamura, Oct 11: During routine patrolling duty in the Batadola area near the Indo-Bangla Border Fence, security personnel recovered and seized approximately 20 kilograms of dry ganja wrapped in celotape. The contraband was found in an unclaimed condition and subsequently seized after observing all necessary legal formalities. Following the seizure, Sonamura Police Station has initiated an investigation to identify the individuals involved in smuggling or owning the illegal consignment. The estimated market value of the seized ganja is around ₹2 lakh. Security forces have intensified patrolling in the border areas to curb illegal cross-border smuggling activities.
