15,000 Yaba Tablets Seized; One Arrested by Jatrapur Police
Agartala, October 28: In a major success against the drug menace, Jatrapur Police have arrested one person and seized a large quantity of Yaba tablets from Nidaya Gangkul area. Acting on a tip-off, a team from Jatrapur Police Station conducted a raid at the residence of Kamrul Mia, son of Farid Mia, and recovered 15,000 Yaba tablets, weighing around 162 grams and valued at approximately ₹75,000 in the local market. Police sources said the seized tablets were packed in 10 packets. The accused, Kamrul Mia (aged 28), was arrested from the spot. Officer-in-Charge of Jatrapur Police Station Siti Kant Bardhan stated that anti-narcotics operations will continue in the coming days, adding, “The police are fully committed to eradicating drugs from society.” The incident has sparked widespread discussion in the locality, with residents lauding the police for their active efforts and urging for stricter measures to build a drug-free society.
